In search of excitement

I don’t have a clear memory of my mother’s hugs, it’s more of a feeling, deep in my gut rather than my mind. A sense of how wonderful it was to let go in her arms, to hear the calm rhythm of her breathing, and to catch that clean, peaceful scent her skin carried when it met mine.
